Pacific Coast Highway (Highway 1)

The highway 1 is a Californian State Highway, and is generally called as Pacific Coast Highway. This road is started from New Port Beach, a famous resort place located in southern suburbs from Los Angeles, and passed through Los Angeles, Santa Monica, Monterey, Santa Cruz, and San Fransisico, and is ended at merging point to 101 State Highway in the southern suburbs of Eureka City. The distance would be approximately 700 miles in total. In the US, the north-south roads are designated in odd numbers, and numbering begins from Pacific Coast to Atlantic Coast in order. Incidentally, the west-east-bounded roads are even numbers, started numbering from Mexican Gulf to Canadian Border in order. This Pacific Coast Highway is, therefore, located in the west-end of the US and north-south-bounded road along Pacific Seashore.
Nothing in particular are found in vacant seashores, when passing through very popular resort coastline like New Port Beach, Long Beach, and Santa Monica. There are cold currents in the US west coast and marine sports with wearing wet suits are popular instead of swimming leisure, due to very cool water temperature.
In the some hilly areas near Santa Cruz, nice spots for hang gliders are found along Highway 1. Anyhow, such vacant atmosphere might be ideal for enjoying relaxed time without thinking workholics.
Lots of small towns are scattered in the topographical structure of sandy canyons and hills, after passing thorugh Santa Monica seashore with many tourists.
It might happen that resort houses with nice ocean views on the hills would be exposed to the danger of land slides during strong rain weather conditions by weak foundations. There are scarce resort facilities due to the cool tide sea environment. It is said that there are private nudist club beaches near here, but we did not have confirmed the exact locations yet.
We do not remember the name of this small town probably located in Malibu Coastline area. Houses are constructed without any ample jetties nor widbreak woods, however, they might be safe because of no typhoons and hurricanes in the west coast.
You may enjoy a nice driving without drive-in spots nor shops, and such atmosphere with nothing particular would be good for relaxed sentiment.
In the case of easy access to the seashore, parking lots are prepared. It is supposed that giant kelp forests would be present in the cold current sea, and marine sports by wet suits like surfins could be enjoyable.
The managemnet of your choice can be recommended to spend a relaxed time in vacant seashore. It would be best just to see and to do nothing.
The parking spaces are prepared for rest area to enjoy a nice ocean view, in some corners of cut-out hill passages.
No benches nor guide plates/informations are installed. You can enjoy your own feeling with vacant marine atmosphere.
You could see very desolated sandy hills and true blue sea up to the horizon. The weak foundations due to sandy conditions result in being no inhabitant area near here.
You must continue monotonous driving for a certain period.
The flat sandy seashores found instead of steep ciffs and sandy hills, when entering into Oxnard City limit.
This is a fishing pier in the sea coast, however, fishermen were very scarce because of the regular week day situation.
The city of Oxnard settled this marine park with peculiar lay-out of palm trees.
Although it was a little bit cool by windy weather, air temperature might be OK for planting tropical palm trees.
These are jetties of Oxnard city area, but this port belonged to Port Hueneme, the next neighbor city to Oxnard.
Lots of anglers enjoyed fishing from jetties. The sea water inside jetties are very clear and transparently blue, and this is the best place for spending a nice time. This place is a nice resort area with resort hotel and/or motels, being worthwhile staying several days with partners.
The introduced areas are only tiny and small parts of highway 1. It is recommended to find your own time, by driving this long and vacant road. In addition, there are nice resort spots along highway 1, and when tired with driving, you had better stay there for enjoying beautiful night views. You would be satisfied with your own life style, different from ready-made travel plans.
