Revived spinning

The Cardinal33/44 were revived for Japanese market on early 90's.

Cardinal33/44
Olympic/MamiyaOP requested AbuGarcia to revive 33/44. Though Olympic/MamiyaOP called them "Reprica", they are genuine "Cardinal". It was timely, because many of 90's Japanese anglers had not owned the originals of these reels in their boy hood.

Worm gear
The worm gear has smoothness and durability. The efficiency of this gear system is not so high. But it is not a weak point. The angler can feel even the rotation of a small spinner by this gear. Perhaps this models were built by Mizuho in Japan and only the spool was built in Sweden. But it is not necessary to be disappointed. Their quality is high.

Rotor
They did not use the lead weight. This point is suitable for Sweden as an advanced nation. The bail wire is stronger than present reels and foldable.
Line control
They have "rotor brake" like as Shimano 98 models. Of course 33/44 were first. This system enables angler to control the line by the forfinger. It is a good system, because the casting and reeling are the most important things for the fishing reels. This point is same as Mitchell reels. But the solutions of them are different. It is good, because they have identities.

Line roller
They have bushes in their line rollers. I can not accept the reels whitch don't have the bushes like as Japanese major reels on 80's as "reel".

But...
The revived 33/44 did not have the wrench for line roller. It is not good. I use a spoon whitch is cut the head for it.
Bail arm screw
This was a difect of revived 33. "L" point of bail spring was too long and touched at the bail arm screw. This may be a cause of breaking the spring. Check your reel.
