It's Japanese fishing boy's nostalgis .

Norman DX No.1
My father bought it me 30 years ago .

Made in Korea .

Daiwa emblem
Although it is cheapest reel , Japanese young anglers were attracted by this emblem .

No drag !
It had not drag washers in its spool .

Spool
Angle of the lip is large . Spool stroke is not enough to spool width . It was only designed for big capacity and " long cast looking " . It is the way of old Japanese spin .

Rotor
Its rotor was not a die-casted AL . It is a pressed AL .

The bail is only a wire .

Its durability is not enough . But it is light weight . It may be a hint for new reels .

Mechanism
Zinc face gears . It has not any bushings . NO BUSH . Oh , peaceful !

Japanese version is right handle . Because Daiwa selected the way which could sell more reels than teaching " right " left handling for Japanese boys . They are crafty !
Right handling and no drag . It is the Japanese fishing .

But Japanese boys were wanted the reels . We could not buy the Mitchell and Abu , because they were too expensive . And the " reel "was rare then .
