Bushings in knob

I tried building bushings in knob of MITCHELL 308/408 .

Although it is able to be exchanged...
The knob of MITCHELL is one piece construction and it is not built the bushings . So the looseness of knob increases by use . The knobs of MITCHELL and Cardinal are built by screws .
Although it is able to be exchanged , the new knobs are not sold now .
So I tried building bushings in knob .
I used80B 0406 bushings of OILES .
OILES 80B0406
Tools
The drills . Epoxy glue etc .
Sizes of drills are from 4.5 to 6.1. The steps of them should be less than 0.3mm .
Two of bushings are used per a knob (no picture).
Drilling
Drill the hole manually .
Although the bushing of 80B4060 is designed for 6.0mm hole , the knob may be broken by the stress . So the last drill is 6.1mm .
Apply the glue
Apply the glue after the check of fitting of bushings .
Apply the glue into the hole of the crank side .
Insert the bushing
Insert the bushing .
Although the material of the bushing cannot be adhered by the glue , the glue becomes the stopper of the bushing .
The opposite side is same too . The bushing had better be together inserted with the shaft .

If a crank is worn, the A must be made longer.

Remove the glue of the holes of bushings before hardening .

If your glue is a type of 5 minutes , you will had better put two bushings like the figure .
It is possible to glue together at the same time of two if your glue is a type of 30 minutes . In this case , the reliability becomes higher by painting the glue to the whole of hole of knob .
Finish
Apply a reel oil to the bushings after a day .
But !
But the bushing cannot be used into the knob of 70's reels , because it is thinner than the 80's knob .
So I must find the other bushings .

I have found the good bushing for 70's knob .
It is used on Japanese spinning reels .
