As a tool...

Ohmori reels were excellent mechanically. But they are not good as a tool. The comparison with Mitchell is interesting.

1 Spool
The friction of its spool lip seems low. But it makes tangles when it is filled with line. So it can be used as smaller spool only. It cannot cast long distance. Compare with Mitchell, Lew , Zebco and so on.

2 Short stroke
Its stroke is shorter than the width of spool. So Ohmori reels make tangles during cast.
3 Knobs
The knobs do not fit fingers. Because the knob is a contact point to the person, the knob is important. Compare with Mitchell.

4 Appearance
Their appearance are cheap.

Fishing reel is a machine. But it is not merely a machine.
