Following reels are my 308/408. This size is popular in Japan.
70' 308 70's308. Garcia's logo is engraved on body. This reel's bail are replaced by roller guide of 70's408. Original bail is tungsten carbide guide. It does not have hi-speed spiral bevel gear of 70's 408. But I can feel MITCHELL's tasts from it. Good handle knob, easy line control, easy changable anti-reverse, reliable drag, etc. |

60's 408 This reel was bought in Canada. This type seems older than 408 which was regularly sold in Japan. Bail arm, handle knob which doesn't have a skid, parallel crank, and brass bush on main gear are different from 70's 408. |

80's 308A This reel does not have the planamatic. So, most Japanese MITCHELL fan did not accept it. But I like its simplness. This model never made line tangle during casting. This point is excellent for fishing reel. Because "casting and reeling" is most basic and impotant task. |

80's 408 This 80's 408(408A) was similar to 308A. It did not have planamatic too. Special model for Japan was sold on 86. It had planamatic. But it did not have spiral bevel gear as 70's 408. |

90's 308Pro pranamatic 90's Japan special model with planamatic. Body and rotor were die-casted in Taiwan. But other manufacturings were done in France. It was more precise than other Taiwanese reels. |

90's 308A planamatic The last Japan special model. This reel has many problems. They are wrote on the page of "Oh, my god!". This model lost MITCHELL's credit in Japan. |
