Speed Spool BB-2
LEW'S Speed Spool BB series was produced by Shimano on 70's. It was not
only first bait casting reel of Shimano, but it had many "first".
It was first parming shape. It was first disengaged line guide. It was
first right side cast control knob. It was first original bait reel made
in Japan. BB was original of all of presence bait casting reels in the
world.

Parming body
Its left side plate does not have any knob. It was first parming body in the world.

Disengaged line guide
When the clutch is pushed, the line guide is disengaged with the spool. So spool is "free turning". Because the distance between the line guide and the spool is longer than ordinally reels, the friction of line is reduced. The shape of BB is not born only by appearance.

Cast control knob
BB's cast control knob is on right side plate. Star drad is "tri-star" shape for easy access. This is designed by function too. |

３５mm spool
BB-2 was special model in BB series. Only its spool was smaller than the
other models. Although BB-1/3 had 40mm dia spool, BB-2's was 35mm dia.
This size was same as Bantam 100. And this size is same size to presence
bait reels ! So, BB-2 was original of all of the bait reels.
