Bantam 100
Shimano Bantam 100 was world first compact bait reel with not-round shape. It had same sized spool as BB-2. But LEW was angry by this reel. So LEW changed the manufacturer of BB to Ryobi. The name of development was "BM-7".

New BM-１
"BM" was Japanese name of first Shimano's BB in 70's. Shimano remade BM as "New BM" on 1984. This model was sold only in Japan. So its model life was very short. This model meant that BM/BB was special model for Shimano.

Not only magnet
New BM had "twin control system". Although this system is not suitable for New BM, it had good feeling and good performance. You will say "Why don't Shimano use this system on presence model ?". This system is Daiwa's patent. So AbuGarcia's 3000C which has same system is removed brake brock in package.
