Mamiya-OP LiberoRS700
Libero was the last spinning reel by MamiyaOP/Olympic.
MamiyaOP LiberoRS700
Mamiya said that it is the special model for lure fishing.
The " casting rotor brake " , micro-adjustable drag , the left
handle setting are the good points.
It was sold as " Fin-Nor's AHAB-lite".
Made in Bangladesh.
Casting rotor brake
Libero has the " casting rotor brake ". When the bail is opened
in picture's position, a slight brake works on the rotor. It prevents the
accidental bail closure and keeps the space for the line control.
It is good mechanism. But it is the evidence that Japanese manufactures
do not know fishing because it is 8 years after from the first instant
anti-reverse in 90. I knew that the instant anti-reverse made the reel
wrong for the line control in 90.
Level winding system
Libero has the level winding system. But it is the same to Shimano's patented
" Aero-cam " in 80's.
Spool ring and drag
Its spool ring is simple. So, the line never wind on it.
The drag is good. It has smoothness and adjustable. Old Japanese models
had only maximum tension for the Japanese behind fishermen who wind their
spinning reels by their right hands until now.
Bail-arm mount
Libero's bail-arm mount is metal shaft. So, it is smooth.
Handle
The most Japanese spinning reels are sold with the right handles. But Libero
was sold with the left handle.
Its knob is excellent too.
Libero was not popular in Japan. The other models of MamiyaOP , which did
not have the rotor brakes , were more popular.
This is the Japanese market.
Most Japanese do not know how to use fishing reels.
This is the country which has the world finest fishing tackle manufactures
!
